AI-first, multi-domain command & control

The map is the territory.

COGNIS brings every sensor, partner feed and asset into one living operational picture. AI reads it, you command from the globe, and every event is recorded, so the past is as navigable as the present.

AI analytics

AI reads every track,
all the time.

Models run on the live stream. Each finding appears on the globe with its evidence, its confidence and the events behind it, so operators decide faster and can check what they are told.

Behavioural anomaly scoring

Learns what normal looks like per area, entity type and hour, and scores every deviation as it happens.

Dark and deceptive activity

Flags transponders that go silent, positions that jump and identities that change mid-voyage, and cross-checks them against radar and partner reports.

Rendezvous detection

Closest-approach analysis finds meetings at sea and in the air, including the ones that happened while nobody was watching.

Track prediction

Projects likely routes and arrival times, and estimates where a lost contact is now. The estimate is drawn on the globe as an uncertainty cone.

Visual classification

Recognises vessels, vehicles and people in camera feeds and attaches what it sees to the entity, with the frame as proof.

Ask the record

Plain-language questions become a query you can read, answered on the map and on the timeline at once.

Humans stay in command. AI raises, ranks and explains, and operators confirm, dismiss or act. Every finding and every decision is recorded as an event you can replay.

AI-first

AI helps with every task,
and you can work without it.

An operator can ask a question instead of building a query, accept a prepared task instead of composing one, and read a brief instead of assembling the facts. If assistance is switched off or fails, the picture, the alerts and the tasking work as before.

Observed, derived or inferred

The picture always shows whether a sensor observed something, a rule derived it or a model inferred it. A model never writes a position or creates an entity. Its confidence is shown as low, medium or high.

AI proposes and you decide

A proposal is the complete order, shown where you would give it yourself, such as a ghost route on the globe or a draft in the rules editor. When you accept it, it is issued in your name, so the same permissions, confirmations and interlocks apply.

Acts with your permissions

AI works with the permissions of the person it serves, inside their tenant and their classification, and a task still needs its confirmation. The audit trail names the person and the skill that acted for them.

A deterministic core

A model never replaces or steers fusion and rules. The same input gives the same picture, and a past alert can be explained from the thresholds recorded with it.

Tested like a sensor

Each model has a measured performance, a stated limit and a health state, and is not used beyond them. It is tested in simulation, where the scenario knows which vessel went dark and when.

Inside your network

Every model has a location and a classification ceiling. By default, data goes only to models that run on your own installation. Sending it anywhere else takes an administrator's explicit choice, which is audited.

Assisted paths

Rules from plain language

Describe the behaviour in a sentence. COGNIS drafts the rule, shows how it understood the sentence, and runs the rule over your recorded history before anyone enables it.

Briefs and reports

Handover briefs, incident reports and debriefs are drafted from the record, on your own forms and in the reader's language. Every fact cites its data.

Documents to picture

COGNIS reads a notice, such as a navigational warning or a seasonal fishery closure, and proposes the zone with its validity and schedule. A person accepts it.

Alert triage

Each alert opens with a short brief of what matters, with its sources. Alerts that belong to one event are proposed as a single incident. AI never changes an alert's severity.

Why?

Ask why about anything on the picture. An alert shows its rule and the thresholds in force, and a fused track shows its sources and what each reported. This works without a model.

Since your last look

When you return to the console, a digest lists what changed in the area you had on screen. Each line opens its moment on the time ribbon.

Learned models and agents

  • Pattern of lifeThe installation learns what is normal from its own sensors. Interference and deception are drawn as areas on the picture, and a track that went dark gets a probable area.
  • Sensors and radioCameras describe what they see, and a detection by one sensor can point another at it. Radio traffic is transcribed, translated and placed on the timeline.
  • Mandated agentsAn agent can watch an area under a mandate that a person grants. The mandate names the assets, the capabilities, the area and the end time, and the person can revoke it.

Hard limits

These hold whatever the configuration, the mandate or the model.

  • COGNIS never commands a weapon or an effector on a real asset. Engagement exists only in simulation, for wargames.
  • It never identifies a person. It does no face recognition and does not match people against registers from imagery or voice.
  • It never scores or ranks people, including operators.
  • Text written by a model leaves your organisation only if your release policy allows it.
The operational picture

Where, and when. Every source, every moment.

Panels are glass over the globe, nothing hides the map, and every colour on screen has a meaning.

Rewind the whole picture

Drag the time ribbon and every entity, trail, sensor footprint and alert returns to that moment. Late data, such as a satellite AIS batch that arrives hours afterwards, is placed at the time it was observed.

  • Fresh
  • Ageing
  • Stale
  • Ghost

Confidence you can see

Icons fade, uncertainty rings grow and trails turn dashed as reports age. You can see how far to trust a track before you read any number.

Multi-source fusion

AIS, radar and partner reports become one entity. Fusion knows when to merge and when a later echo is new information, and which source is the authority for each attribute.

A runtime metamodel

New entity types, attributes and capabilities are defined at runtime. Detail cards, actions and rendering follow without a new release.

True to scale, in 3D

COGNIS has a library of metre-true 3D models, with terrain and switchable basemaps. A frigate is the size of a frigate, and a follow camera tracks it through the scene.

Sensors show what they see

Cameras, radars and gimbals draw their field of view and ground footprint in their own colour, in step with the time ribbon. Cameras can be steered from the picture.

Explore the record

Search the full history by radius, closest approach, reporting gaps and kinematics, or write queries in a console built for entities and time.

Rules, zones and alerts

Rules cover zone entry, time in a zone, loitering, predicted closest approach to a vessel or a cable, vessels that go dark and AIS that disagrees with radar. They run on the stream, on schedules you set, and each alert opens with its context.

Sensors on moving platforms

A sensor can be carried, like a radar on a patrol ship, a turret on an aircraft, a camera on a drone or a towed sonar. Each detection records where the sensor was and whether it measured a position, a bearing or an area.

Registers on the picture

Vessels of interest, sanctions, licences and port calls are matched to entities by IMO number, MMSI or call sign. Each entry keeps its history, so a replay shows what was known at the time.

Domains and symbols

Every entity belongs to the surface, subsurface, air, land or space domain. Symbols are civil by default, and an installation or a user can switch to NATO APP-6.

Operate: missions and tasking

  1. 1

    Task

A task is one asset and one capability. Parameters are picked on the globe, and tasks queue per asset so that orders never collide.

  2. 2

    Living mission

A living mission is a sequence of tasks with conditions. The asset patrols, investigates if a contact appears, and otherwise carries on. The mission adapts while it runs.

  3. 3

    Wave

Objectives are matched to the assets that are ready, by priority and capability, in a single planning pass.

  4. 4

    Campaign

A campaign is an operation of several waves. The outcome of each wave is assessed and feeds the plan for the next.

Readiness at a glance

Every asset's availability, endurance and state are tracked continuously, and the planner respects them.

Plan back from a deadline

Say when something must happen, and reverse planning works out when each asset has to leave.

Physical common sense

An asset carried aboard another can't be sent off on its own. Impossible orders are stopped before they go out.

Every order is an event

Tasks, missions and their outcomes are audited and replay on the time ribbon next to what happened.

One gateway to real assets

Unmanned aircraft, surface vessels, cameras and crewed units are tasked through the adapter that holds them. Commands are signed, and the safety checks are the same for every asset.

Assign, deploy, execute

An order reaches its assignee in up to three steps. At each step the assignee can accept, refuse with a reason or delegate, and the mission responds by reassigning, escalating or holding.

Stop has priority

A stop bypasses the queue and is repeated until the vehicle confirms it. A person is never failed by a timer. They are reminded, and then the order goes up the command tree.

No weapons control

Weapons and effectors appear on the picture, read-only, with their envelope and readiness. COGNIS never commands one on a real asset.

Simulate

Rehearse before it's real.

Scenarios enter through the same ingest path as real sensors, so fusion, AI and alerts behave exactly as they will in operation.

Replay

Run a recorded day again, at any speed, for debriefs and lessons learned.

Synthesise

Generate traffic, patrols and sensor sweeps to train operators and test rules.

Wargame

Script adversaries and see how your picture, plans and people respond.

Your geography

A scenario is written once and then bound to your area. Names, flags and numbers are neutral and imply no state.

Weeks of history

Weeks of plausible background traffic pass through ingest on a separate lane, so they never overwrite a live position or raise a live alert.

Exercise control

A director's console for academies and training centres, with injects, checkpoints, trainee seats, scoring and an after-action review.

The platform

Five domains on one nervous system.

Events are the source of truth. Every position, attribute change and command is immutable and timestamped. State is derived from them, and nothing is overwritten.

Messages are digitally signed. The add-on has its own identity and data schema, and every exchange is in the audit trail.

CISE (the Common Information Sharing Environment for the EU maritime domain) is an initiative of the European Union. The CISE data and service model was developed by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) and is standardised by ETSI as the Common Data Model (ETSI GS CDM). CISE-ALERT refers to the EU project that extended CISE with risk and incident alerting services. COGNIS CISE is an independent implementation by IADORAI and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the European Commission, the JRC, EMSA or ETSI. All names belong to their respective owners.

Ask about CISE
Organisations and sharing

Several organisations, one picture.

Each organisation is a tenant with its own address. It shares by publishing what it chooses under an agreement that both administrators approve. No query reads another organisation's data.

Sharing agreements

An agreement sets what may leave by type, class, area, attribute and classification. Both sides approve it, and every change is audited. The same policy model covers partners and external networks.

One source per partner

What a partner publishes passes through your own ingest, fusion and rules, and the picture shows where it came from. Shared register entries keep their provenance as well.

Centres and hubs

COGNIS serves national centres of several agencies and regional hubs whose members each contribute what they choose. An edge installation links to its centre in the same way.

Connectors

Connectors for CISE, TAK, MSSIS, IORIS and YARIS are add-on modules built on one framework. Each is released at a stated readiness level, from designed to in operation.

Cloud-native, edge-ready, accountable.

Runs where you do

COGNIS runs in the cloud, on your premises or at the edge, and keeps operating in degraded mode when links drop.

Tenant isolation

Separation is enforced at the gateway, on the message bus and at row level in every store.

Audit everything

Every change is recorded. You set the retention, and a change to it shows its impact first and needs typed confirmation.

Observable

Every process exposes metrics, and a picture-health gauge on screen tells operators that the feed is sound.

Sovereign installation

The full stack runs from the same images on your own infrastructure, whether that is a data centre, a ship or a command post. The link to the outside can be connected, intermittent or absent.

Air-gapped operation

Maps and terrain are hosted on site. Releases arrive as signed bundles with their bills of materials. The licence is checked offline and never stops the picture.

Your identity provider

COGNIS uses your identity provider and smart cards, denies network traffic by default and exports its audit trail to your SIEM. Support staff get access only when you grant it.

Upgrades you can roll back

One migration ledger covers every store, and each release states how it is rolled back.

See your own territory on one map.

We'll run a live session with a scenario shaped around your mission, whether maritime, border, emergency response or security.
